One of the biggest bidding mixups you can have with partner is when you make a double for a specific meaning and partner thinks it means something completely different (like you think it is penalty and partner thinks it is takeout!). Since most partnerships have a general agreement that double above a certain level is penalty and below is not, then it is important to talk about when these non-penalty doubles are takeout and when they mean something else. This is the goal of this week’s discussion.
