Hi Everyone -
This week we turn our focus from Responder’s use of the double to Advancer’s (the 4th player to act). The time when Advancer is most likely to want to compete in the bidding is when the opponents have found a fit and partner has taken some action in the middle. In this situation, the Advancer can use a double (called a Responsive Double) to show enough values to compete in the bidding but a hand that is not sure where it is best to play.
